Gary went to be with his Lord April 11, 2019 surrounded by his loving family, in Campbell River Hospital following a short illness. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years Jan, his sons Michael (Jan) and Tim and his daughter Trisha along with their families.

Survived also by his younger siblings, sister Linda (John), brothers Rod and Karl and their families. Along with a large extended family, nieces and nephews, in-laws and outlaws. He loved doting on his 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Many people knew him from his work at the Pulp Mill, running the Co-op gas bar or serving with the Association for Community Living. From 1971 on he actively served his church in every area of ministry.  He loved God and he loved people.  He enjoyed camping and fishing our beautiful island. Over the years he played fastball, darts, and crib, and coached kids softball and basketball.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Special thanks to the amazing hospital staff that cared for Gary in Emergency, the ICU and the 3rd floor D.
