January 18, 1946 - August 31, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary Maude on August 31, 2019 at his home in Comox after an extended illness.
Gary is predeceased by his wife Elaine, brothers James and Peter. He is survived by his son Kelly (Susan) and his grandchildren Logan, Aidan and Kayley, his sister Marilyn, brothers Alan (Margaret), Joseph (Sherrie), and Chuck (Joyce), numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was born on January 18, 1946 at Leeds England and emigrated to Canada at age 7 growing up in Sidney BC. He joined the Army Reserves (Artillery) in 1964 and quickly fled to the RCAF later that year as a Supply Technician. Gary served 27 years in the regular force posted throughout Canada and Germany, and retired to Comox BC where he would serve an additional 19 years as Supply Officer to HMCS Quadra Cadet Camp, a job he loved dearly.
He was a member of 888 Wing Air Force Association as well as the Legion and thoroughly enjoyed time spent with his veteran brothers and sisters. He was a gentleman to the end. We would like to thank the numerous doctors and nurses, support staff, neighbours, and especially the VIHA home care personnel who have supported him through his extended illness.
At his request, cremation with private interment to follow.
