It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the recent passing of Gail Bauchman at the Campbell River Hospital on October 23'd, 2018. Gail was born April 20th 1938 in Vancouver, B.C. The oldest of two children.

Gail is predeceased by her parents, Father Clair Walsh and Mother Edith Knapp. She is survived by her sister Lynn Yost, son Kevin Bauchman (Deborah), daughter Kathy Barker (Ryan), son Kris Bauchman (Debra). Grandsons and granddaughters Derek Bauchman (Jasmin), Tyler Herman (Selena), Justin Barker, Leslie Barker (Ryan), Jordan Bauchman. Tanya Oliwa (Mike), Natasha Gossen (Rico) Chantelle Booton (Daniel) As well as seven great grandchildren.

Gail entered the Royal Canadian Air Force on the 28th of September 1956 and was honourably released on the 5th day of April1959. Mom loved to travel, visiting family and friends along the way. Arizona was one of her favorite destinations where she, her mother and sister would spend time exploring different areas of interest. She retired to Campbell River B.C. after working as an Executive House Keeper at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, B.C.

She also had a keen interest in gardening and enrolled herself into horticulture courses to help further her knowledge and passion for gardening. This was put to good use when she accepted a seat for gardening on the strata council where she lived. She was also very interested in architecture and design and enrolled in interior design classes. She loved being close to the ocean, and sitting at the beach with her friends watching the ocean and cruise ships go by.

A private celebration of Gail's life will take place at a later date with close family and friends in Campbell River B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gail's name to the B.C. Kidney Foundation or a Charity of your choice.
