On March 4th, 2019 a very fine man died. Fred was born in Vancouver BC to Albert and Else King; where he lived until he married the girl across the street, his lovely wife of 61 years, Joan Helene Whitmore.
The young couple then moved to Nanaimo BC where Fred found work at the new Harmac Mill in 1951, which he retired from in 1991. Fred was a bright, life-long learner who was a fantastic Husband, Father, Grandfather and Opa. Fred was fair, open minded and a fountain of knowledge to everyone. We were all very lucky to have him.
Fred was predeceased by Joan on March 30th, 2013 but leaves behind to mourn his loss his 7 children; Albert, Frederick, Deborah, Anthony, Michael, Matthew and Cynthia, as well as 26 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a large extended family.
Our Father is now at peace with the wife he's missed so much. A celebration of a life well lived will be held on May 25th, 2019 at the Kin Hut at 1 pm.
