It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick Tyson Barker, who passed away peacefully at the age of 95, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Eagle Park Heath Care Facility in Qualicum Beach, BC, with his wife, Patricia, and her daughter, Sheilagh, by his side.
Fred was born October 11, 1927, in Scarborough, Ontario.
He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Sara, and brother, Eric.
Left to mourn are Patricia, his loving wife of 24 years, his daughters, Heather (Larry), and Leslie, and his step-children, Victoria, Jamie, Gail, Paul (Linda), Colleen and Sheilagh, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We wish to thank all the caring staff at Eagle Park for their dedication, kindness and love given to Fred during his one-year stay at their facility.
A funeral mass will be held at the Catholic Church of Ascension, 887 Wembley Road, Parksville, at 11:00am on Friday, November 18, followed by a reception in the church hall.
