It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Fred Chase. Dad lived a full life and died peacefully at 82 years of age after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Fred is survived by daughters Lisa Chase and her husband James Woodland, Susi Roth, and husband Rod. Cherished Papa of Ethan Woodland, Ian Barry (Samantha Parke) and Jessica Barry (Emiel Vandemoortele). Best friend, Ethel "Susan" Bowen, brother of John Chasczewski, Tom Chase (Kathy) and Alex Chasczewski. Fred is predeceased by and reunited with
his beloved wife of 43 years Elizabeth (Clark) Chase (2003), parents John and Pearl Chasczewski, brother Nick Chase (Millie,) sisters-in-law Millie and Karen Chasczewski.
In his early days he loved to fish and hunt with friends.
He had a passion for cars, family and fun. He enjoyed 43 years with his first love Liz, creating a loving home, raising two daughters and enjoying grandchildren.
A truck driver and mechanic by trade, he designed and built car haulers at Cartran and Roadway. Following this, he managed the Alberta Fleet of North American Vanlines. He was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family and could be counted on to help with whatever anyone needed.
In Fred's retirement, he trained and raced trotting horses. In his later years, he spent time with his friend Susan, visited his daughter Lisa in British Columbia, and enjoyed family gatherings with his daughter Susi in New Hamburg.
A private celebration of life will take place with family.
