It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Freda Claus, in the early morning hours of May 10, 2018.
Freda was born in Opsterland, Netherlands on March 11, 1933. She married Tom on May 14, 1954 and they immigrated to Canada in 1955 where they worked for a dairy farmer in Cloverdale, BC. They later moved to the island eventually buying and settling into their own farm on Amos Rd in Chemainus in 1975.
Freda was predeceased by her husband Tom in 2010 and lives on in her children Tina (Mike), Harry (Chris), and Tom (Tammy). Also her grandchildren Nicki, Shane, Lacey (Adam), Brittany (Sean), Amy (Bryce), Kerri-Ann (Adam), Katrina (Jeremy) and Aydan (Taylor). As well as her eight great grandchildren Ny-Ann, Isaac, Callie, Kaleb, Corbin, Austin, Layla and Eleanor.
Freda also as surviving relatives in Netherlands, Ontario and BC. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday May 17, 2018 at 1 pm at Duncan Christian Reformed Church, 930 Trunk Rd, Duncan BC, V9L 2S1.
Freda had a smile that lit up the world and a grace that was uncompromising. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
