It is with great sadness to announce that Fred Boyko of Port Alberni, BC passed away on the evening of Dec 3, 2017 at the age of 84.
Fred is survived by his wife Diane and two sons Fred, and Brian, one grandchild, brother Al (Jean) Boyko and children.
He was an active member of the Port Alberni Community. Involved with the Rescue Squad, Rock and Gem Club, Industrial Heritage Society, Historical Society and Local Radio Club.
Fred touched a lot of lives with his passion of volunteerism and avid rock collecting and preservation of our local history. An electrician by trade and retired from the Pulp and Paper Mill.
Fred felt a strong connection to the the outdoors and shared his passion with his family and friends. He loved hiking, exploring and hunting. In retirement Fred and Diane would enjoy days on the beach basking in nature around them.
