In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Frank Rawcliffe. Frank passed away peacefully and gracefully in his home on January 30th 2022 after visits with many of his beloved family in person and via facetime.
Frank was born in Calgary, the eldest of 4 children to Frank and Edna Rawcliffe. After graduation Frank worked as a journeyman pressman in the printing trade. Frank moved to the place he called home, Port Alberni in 1971 with his wife Dolores.
He worked at a mill and for the city until he was hired at MacMillan Bloedels Sproat lake division where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 25 years, Frank retired at the age of 57 due to heart health issues.
Frank was an avid curler so being newly retired he wore 2 hats and became the club president and the janitor. He loved the curlers and the many events that the club hosted. Frank loved to hunt, fish and camp at Mactush especially when his grandchildren could join, which was often and left them with many cherished memories.
Home for Frank was the 2 acres in Beaver Creek that he lovingly tended with beautiful gardens and flower beds and it kept him busy, he was a hard worker and always had a project on the go. Frank loved his family and the many friends he made over the years and his passing has left a huge void in our hearts.
No gathering or celebration will be the same without Frank and his awesome dance moves, he was always the life of the party and will be missed so very much.
Frank was predeceased by mother Edna, Father Frank, sister Donna and his son Troy, as well as brother in law Ray and Ray's wife Audrey.
He is survived by his loving wife Dolores, son Frank (Michele), daughter Sheryl (Lawrence), son Terry (Deb), brother Dave, sister Sandy (Larry), in laws Darlene, Lil (Rej), Penny (Norm) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held at the curling rink 3250 9th April 30, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made towards the purchase of a memorial plaque to be mounted on a curling rock so Frank will forever "be in the hack"
