Mrs. Francine Michielssen of Port Alberni passed away at the age of 81 years. She is survived by her 3 loving children: Rudy (Kelly) of Sherwood Park; Sue (Tom) of Port Alberni and Leanne of Grand Prairie; grandchildren Darren (Natasia), Jenn (Eric), Taylor (Nicholas) and TJ (Ukee); great-granddaughter Eloise; special dog Toby; and many friends and extended family in Canada and Belgium. Francine was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Andy; parents and stepdad, and her brother Oskar.
Francine was an active member of the Sunshine Club and the Legion; she loved to spend time at the Echo Center, enjoying many games of cards and special trips with all the friends she made there.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Johnsen, nurses Jamie & Colleen; Community Care, and the staff and volunteers of Ty Watson House for all the great care they gave Mom.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate in support of Ty Watson House, Alberni Valley Hospice, 2579 10th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 2P5.
