On Sunday, June 9, 2019 Frances (Fran) Louise Manzini of Nanaimo passed away peacefully at 93 years of age in her home at Kiwanis Lodge with family at her side. Fran was predeceased by her beloved husband Gino and cherished son Gordon. She is survived by her daughter Jocelyn, daughter-in-law Tina (Greg), son-in-law Gordon (Eunice), grandchildren Michelle (Cory) and Amy, great-grandchildren Dustin, Jordon, McKenna, Michael, Kwin, Shania, Melvin and great-great-grandchild Boe.
Fran enjoyed a full life with interests that included travel, cooking and crafts but her biggest joy was growing many prize-winning dahlias. Gino and Fran were actively involved with the BC chapter of the Telephone Pioneers (now Telecom Pioneers of Canada) enjoying many trips together to attend conferences. Always gracious she was well known as the friendly, helpful clerk at Shoppers Drug Mart. Fran leaves a deep legacy as a loving, caring person, she will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Jessica Otte for her kind, caring and attentive approach to looking after Fran and to the nurses and support staff of Kiwanis Lodge for the outstanding care you gave to her throughout the 6 years she lived in the lodge but mostly for the loving, attentive care administered during her final days which allowed her to pass with dignity and in peace in the presence of those she loved.
A private internment service was held on Thursday, June 13th at Cedar Memorial Gardens. Flowers are graciously declined. Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family online through Sands Funeral Chapel.

'Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear."
