Felice Massimo "Phil" Guardiero

Born in the heart of the Rockies in beautiful Fernie BC July 11th 1928 to Antonio and Eliza Guardiero.  Predeseased by his parents, wife Shirley (Botley), and grandson Brett Colton (Mercer).

Phil moved to Nanaimo as a young boy, attended and graduated from John Shaw. As a young man he worked for Orange Crush and later for Addison Motors. In his teens he met the love of his life Shirley Elizabeth Botley. They married and started their life together raising three children, Cheryl, Neil and Grant.   

Phil managed R. Angus auto parts and machine shop for 26 years. Later Phil went to work for his life long friend George Naylor for Westburne Plumbing and Heating. He retired from his many joyful years with the Westburne gang in the early 1990's. 

Many remember Phil who gave to community coaching Minor hockey, years of equipment manager and later leather repairs of players equipment. On retirement Phil volunteered at NRGH Hospital Auxiliary along with his wife Shirley and ,long time family friend Dorothy Irving. He continued to volunteer after Shirley passed until unable to manage due to health.

Phil peacefully passed away August 17th 2018 at age 90 in his home with his family's love surrounding him. He leaves his children Cheryl, Neil and Grant. Grand children Angela, Andrea, Kyle, (Brett) Sareena, McKenzie, Hayden. Great grand children Billie, Drea, Madison, Tatianna, John and baby Rylie. Phil's family was the joy of his life.  

Service at Sands Funeral Chapel, One Newcastle Ave. Nanaimo, BC on Saturday September 1st 1:00 pm.
