Fawn Bartlett was born at Cape Mark BC July 19, 1974. In Telkwa Grade 3, Fawn won the Elks Community Service Poster Contest. In Grade 4, she won a Creative Writing Prize to meet her hero, "Bushman" author Tommy Thompkins. Fawn was a talented artist. At age 21, she had one child.

Fawn was as good a daughter, sister, friend, and mother as she could be. She struggled with mental illness all her life. Despite that, she finished high school, held a job, entered college, and learned to kayak and scuba dive. Fawn gave her daughter gymnastics and let her act in a movie. Later she slid deeper into mental illness.

She settled in Nanaimo, where far too late in life, she received good care at the Vancouver Island Mental Health Society. Fawn passed away Christmas Eve, 2017.

For anyone who remembers Fawn in traffic on roller blades, on long nature walks, or loitering, donations to the Vancouver Island Mental Health Society would comfort the family.

Mourning her loss are her father, mother, brother, loyal friend Connie, caregivers, many friends, daughter, and grandson.
