It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing on December 28, 2018 of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Evelyn Mary Scott.
She leaves behind her husband Angus M. Scott and her children Jennifer Erwin (Keith Todd) and Rebecca Scott (Douglas Knopp); her grandchildren Kelly Pade (Charles Vorselaars) and Sara McAlpine (Jason McAlpine). She will be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren Kayla, Kristy, Katrina, Tyson, Myra and Logan and her two four-footed pals Baron and Maddie. Fond remembrances will be shared by family in Great Britain including Betty, Michael, Heather, Andrew, Robert and many nieces and nephews.
Mum was reflective and peaceful during her last few weeks saying she had lived a full life. She had lived on three continents and travelled to numerous countries. She was a voracious reader, an avid list-writer and queen of the "Thank You Card". Mum was always dressed impeccably, she never had a hair out of place and took every opportunity big or small to "wear a hat".
Evelyn went to boarding school at the Loreto Convent in Darjeeling, India where she lived and studied with twelve other young girls. Mum was a loyal friend and remained in contact with her childhood classmates throughout her whole life. She will be joining her lifelong friend Valerie who passed away just two months ago. Mum had many other friends and spent many happy hours with Jan, Sue, and Gwen in Ontario.
We will all cherish in our hearts - her wisdom, wit, strength of character and grace. The best way we can honour Evelyn is to live life to the fullest and learn something new before 9:00 am each morning.
