Born in Winnipeg on Sept 15, 1923.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Edna.
Survived by his children: David (Ellen), Lynne & Sandra (Denis) and by his step-children: Carol (Ken), Bruce (Cathy), Christina (Don), and Audree (Gary) as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ernie joined the army at 16 before the start of WWII. After leaving the army, he worked in the logging and fishing industry on Vancouver Island & Quadra Island. He was very involved with the Legion on Quadra Island and Powell River.
After having lived in numerous places in BC, Ernie and Edna spent their later years travelling; living winters in Baja or Portugal and looking up long-lost relatives in England and Wales.
We are deeply grateful to all staff at Evergreen Care Home for their support of Ernie; especially during his final days.
