Ernest Alexander Bruce

“Gunfighter”

June 23, 1939 – June 12, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, husband, friend Ernie Bruce, who with dignity and courage lost his fight with pulmonary fibrosis. He is survived by his dedicated and lifelong friend and wife Dorothy, son Jeffery, and daughters Bev Robertson, and Debbie Orielly, also grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Blessed with many friends Dad had the privilege to have, Shannon, Perry, Anita, and John who loyally checked on him daily.

His love for music and passion for guitar live on in his son Jeff and grandsons Alex and Taylor. Dad was known for construction and built many homes in CR. He loved fishing and cooking.

Those who knew him knew a man with a heart too big for words. His knowledge of about “everything” will be missed, and on that note Dad’s words – “It takes more than 52 guys to be in our gang”.

We thank – Dr. Walker, nurses on North CR Hospital, home care support, and hospice at Yuculta – for whom all made Dad comfortable and smile during his struggle.

A Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.

Donations openly accepted to the BC Lung Association in hopes of finding a cure for IPF.
