August 25, 1929 - February 8, 2023
In loving memory ~
Eric passed away at home, in Chemainus, February 8, 2023 with his family close by. He was born August 25, 1929 in Biggar, Saskatchewan. He worked hard as a CP Rail carman most of his life and worked hard to stay alive these past few years. He kept up his walks along Bare Point road, enjoying the honks from the truck drivers, even in his frail state.
Eric married Olga in September 1949 and was predeceased by her in March 1993. Eric married Peggy in October 1995 and was predeceased by her in 2012.
He was predeceased by good friend Cathe in February 2022. Eric was also predeceased by siblings Gwen, Harvey, Margaret and Joe.
Eric is survived and greatly missed by daughters Linda Kump (Wil-Bud) and Pat D'Altroy (Derek-Pete); grandchildren Will (Les), Laura, Clay, and Lea; great-grandchildren Noah, Matt, Ryan and Celeste; and other family and friends, including Lavaine and long-time CP Rail buddy Tom Combs (Lil).
Huge Thank you to Dr. Morris (who always made his day with that magic smile) for her support and guidance and the Ladysmith Palliative Home Care Nurses who worked quickly and caringly to make his last days comfortable.
He will be lovingly remembered as Grandpa, Pawsy and "The Old Coot" and in his own words... "A son of a Beech."
No service by request.
