Walker, Ephraim "Eph" passed away suddenly in hospital in Port Alberni on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Loving brother and uncle. Eph has five siblings residing in England whom he was close to, Betty, Sheila, Des, David and John. Eph came to Canada when he was twenty-four years old and shortly after, arrived in the Alberni Valley.
He quickly found employment with McKinnon's Dairy as the pasteurizer and packager where he remained as a faithful employee for over thirty-five years. Eph also boarded with the John McKinnon family and became part of the household. Meticulous, smart, quick-witted, Eph would share his knowledge readily. He was devoted to his faith and in his younger years was heavily involved in Notre Dame as an alter server, assisting and giving Communion and visiting the sick and infirmed. Eph has many friends and relatives in the Alberni Valley and in England who will miss him dearly. Eph's family in England wish to thank the McKinnon's for the care and kindness shown during his life in Canada especially during the last few years.
Prayers will be offered at 7 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Chapel of Memories, 4005 - 6th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC with a funeral mass to be held at 11 am on Friday, August 2, 2019 from Holy Family Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni. Burial to follow. Coffee and refreshments thereafter at Notre Dame Church basement.
