Elsie passed away on February 7, 2019 at the age of 99 years. She is predeceased by husband of 34 years, Wilfred Moore (1987). She is survived by her four sons; Dennis (Cheryl), Ron (Marie), Leslie (Dorothy), and Stewart (Dixie). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Deanna, Colleen, Gloria, Troy, Ron Jr., Leah, Susan, Allan, Stacey, and Stewart Jr.. She also had 15 great grandchildren.
Elsie's parents Sarah and Matthew Robinson immigrated from England with their children to Lantzville, BC in 1922. Elsie and her sisters: Jenny Ballentyne, Sissy Knapp, Maggie Hindmarch, Agnes Nord, and brothers: George, John, and Doug Robinson, all grew up in Lantzville.
Elsie had lived most of her adult life in Nanaimo. She spent many years commercial fishing with her husband, Wilfred. She was an excellent mother and homemaker. She loved her boys and was always there for them. She loved to cook and bake. She especially loved gardening; her yard was always filled with beautiful flower gardens. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was kind and generous, loved everyone, loved animals, she had the best sense of humour, and she loved to laugh.
You will live forever in our hearts, Mum.
Thank you to all the staff at Woodgrove Manor for their exceptional care in the 8 years that Elsie spent there. She will be laid to rest in Bowen Road Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
