October 7, 1932 - May 29, 2022
With heavy hearts, we announce that Mom has gone home to be with her Lord and Saviour and once again, be at the side of her loving husband Alvin Posehn.
She was born October 7, 1932, the first child and daughter of Lena and Otto Renner, on the family homestead, in Young, SK.
She leaves behind her children: Arlone Moore, Linda Hearsey (Tom), Darrell Posehn (Monique) and Tammy Crosson (Dwayne); eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Mom's family relocated from the farm in SK to Sooke, when she was a young child, then later to Glenora, where she attended Fairbridge Elementary School and finally settling in Duncan. Elsie worked at the Totem Cafe and later at Fox's Dry Goods in downtown Duncan, before meeting and marrying Alvin and soon started their family.
Elsie was an exceptional wife and homemaker. She cooked and preserved the vegetables and fruits that they grew and anybody who dropped by would be treated to moms wonderful meals or home baking.
Mom was devoted to her church and served on ladies committees, had been a choir member and Sunday School teacher. She also was a member of the Kinette Club of Duncan and helped in the club's many community minded endeavours.
Her last few years were spent at Wedgewood House in Duncan. Mom made many new friends here and enjoyed a quiet life with a true sense of community. Special thanks to Deb, Wendy and staff at Wedgewood House for your patience and kindness to Mom.
Family also wishes to thank Dr. Szabo, VIHA Support and Wound Care Nurses and the kind staff of Thrifty Foods Pharmacy.
The years went by too quickly mom... you'll live forever in our hearts...
Funeral services will be held June 23, 2022 at St. John's Anglican Church at 11:00am.
