January 9, 1936 - July 2, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother on July 02 2020.
Elli was predeceased by her late husband Richard in January 2003 who was the love of her life, meeting at a soccer dance. It was love a first sight.
Elli was born in Berlin Germany on January 09, 1936 and at a young age of 18 with the encouragement of her Mom to seek a better life she immigrated to Canada aboard the ship Beaverbrae.
She didn't know a word of English and said she learned to speak English by watching "I Love Lucy".
Elli always cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren at her lake front home in Youbou during the summer and the trips to Hawaii with Dad in the winters.
She is survived by her 3 children Barbara(Dan), Doris(Guy), Ralph(Pat).
Grandchildren Connie, Julie, Rich, Ron, Deanna(Jason), Eric(Ashley) and Travis.
Great-grandchildren Olivia, Matthew, Jack, Theo, Brielle, Sierra, Maddie, Jenna, Tyrell, Corey, Michael, Mason, Kirsten, Kristopher.
Great-great-grandchildren Aurora, Oliver, Ashlynn, Derek, Dayton, Katie.
Elli loved the water and spent a lot of her time in or near it playing in the waves or teaching other children how to swim. She even tried her hand at sailing but didn't like the way the boat would lean over in the wind.
Elli enjoyed her last few years residing at Evergreen Senior facility where she met so many wonderful people.
She loved her games of Bingo and the many great outing she attended.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Evergreen staff and Dr. Rob Ramsey for the excellent loving care they provided to Mom.
She will be sadly missed but never forgotten and will always be remembered for her kind heart and her generous nature.
