April 2, 1929 - March 29, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce that Beth passed away peacefully at the Priory in Langford just a few days shy of her 92nd birthday. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who was a very strong, independent woman, living her life with grace.
Beth attended Art school in her younger years and enjoyed painting, and through her love of the arts was a regular volunteer in the gift shop at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, along with serving in many capacities with the Sooke Fine Arts Society and the Belfry Theatre.
Beth also volunteered for many years as an avid canvasser with the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation, as well as the Sooke Regional Museum. She was active in Sooke politics over the years, being involved in the incorporation of the town and Official Community Planning. Her passion for politics originated from her respect for her Grandfather Thomas Dufferin (T.D.) Pattullo, Premier of B.C. from 1933 to 1941.
She spent many loving hours caring for, and tending her lovely gardens at her home in Saseenos, playing tennis until the age of 85, and in summer months enjoying her daily swims in the Sooke basin in front of her property. Beth had a real love for the environment, and was a strong advocate of preserving nature.
The family would like to extend profound gratitude and appreciation to the many wonderful workers and staff at the Priory in Langford who cared so kindly and compassionately for Beth over her last two years.
A private family service will be held on her property in Saseenos.
