June 26, 1937 - August 2, 2021
Our Beloved Mother Elaine Denise Girard passed away peacefully, at the age of 84 on August 2, 2021. Born in Port Alberni on June 26th, 1937 to Albert and Jeanne Poirier, she was the eldest of their 9 children.
In 1955 she fell in love with Raoul Omer Girard and married in 1956, they had 5 children.
In 1971 they moved to the Parksville area where they remained. Their children Albert Girard, Terry Farrington, Jeannine Oakes, Paul Girard, and Lea Girard blessed them with their greatest gifts of all to be a Memere and Pepere to 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Elaine was a lover of travel and Hawaii was her favourite destination, she visited over 40 times. While there they met Norman and Blossom Ascension and became instant lifelong friends.
Elaine was known for helping others planning many reunions and celebrations. Floral design was a skill she loved all her life and she shared a passion of gardening with Omer.
Elaine and Omer moved into Eagle Park Senior Care Home in Qualicum Beach. Sadly on Sept 21, 2019 we lost our Dad.
We are so grateful for the excellent care they were given by such loving and compassionate staff.
We have comfort knowing that our parents are now together and forever entwined.
