July 17, 1946 - January 25, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Tatton who was taken from us suddenly and far too soon.
She is survived by her husband Martin Hoffman, daughter Julie (Kevin), son Jay Guzina (Lyndsay), granddaughters Larissa and Brooklyn Guzina. Her siblings include Keith (Jo-Anne), Sheila (Ken), Bill (Arienna), Larry, Carolyn, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Ron (1989).
Eileen was born in Yorktown, Saskatchewan. She along with her parents Clarence and June (both predeceased) and siblings moved to British Columbia. Her family settled in Nanoose Bay. She eventually met and married her first husband Jack Guzina and had two children.
Over the years Eileen followed her dream of owning her own business doing something she really loved. Eileen graciously volunteered her time in many charitable organizations. She was an active and proud Rotarian with the Daybreak Club of Nanaimo. She also loved spending her time with the Mid Island Tai Chi club.
If Eileen wasn't designing or planning some new project in her house, you would find her in the garden.
Eileen will be remembered for her kindness and sense of humour, passion, energy and most of all her love of family.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful ICU staff at VGH for the care and dignity they showed Mom.
Eileen will be sorely missed by many family members and friends.
Gone But Never Forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
