It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Mom passed away Dec 14 surrounded by the love of her family.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Emile, in 2009, sister Verna, brother Don and her sisters in law Alma, Doris and Diz.
She is survived by her brother Harold Jurgens, 4 daughters, Therese Samson (Don), Barb Olson (Ken), Celine Nordhoj (Garry) and Patti Doege (John Logan) 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 7 great grandchildren, numerous relatives and her wonderful friend of 55 years Marianne. A special thank you to Lucy and Addi who gave Mom much love and support these last few years.
Family was everything to Mom and she was so proud of her kids and grandkids, and thrilled to be Grammie to her great grandchildren.
Mom was born in Humbolt, Sask on August 7 1937, moving with her family to the lower mainland when she was young. Mom and Dad met in Chilliwack where they married in 1957. They moved to the Island shortly after and settled in the Cowichan Valley to raise their family where many, many happy memories were made.
Eileen was a good friend to many and loved that she was able to make people laugh. She will truly be missed.
Memorial service will be held January 24th , 1:30 at First Memorial Duncan BC.
