It is with great sadness the family of Eileen Carson announce her passing. She is survived by her husband Ken Carson and 4 sons Rick Hiebert, Dennis Hiebert (Kandyce) Terry Hiebert (Kathy), Allan Hiebert (Lisa), 1 step-daughter Sherry Carson, and grandchildren Jessica, Bradley, Coleman, Sydnee, Joel, Hailey as well as 1 great grandchild Preston. She also leaves behind her brothers Richard and David Smith.
Eileen was born in Comox on September 19, 1934 and died in Comox on June 13, 2020. She was predeceased by first husband Eric Hiebert and parents Wilfred and Evelyn Smith.
She left the Comox Valley to attend and graduate nursing school, get married and start a family. In the mid-1960s Eileen and family returned to the Comox Valley after stops in Port Moody and Qualicum Beach. She became an active member of the community by volunteering in many different areas while raising four active young boys. She could always be counted on to assist with school field trips or to be a chaperone on away sports trips.
Eileen pursued many hobbies including painting, curling, skiing, fishing, and bingo. She also loved swimming and became a certified member of the Royal Lifesaving Society and took great pleasure in teaching children with disabilities to swim. She loved to cook, and baking was her passion. The smell of freshly baked bread often greeted her boys and their friends when they came home from school.
In her later years Eileen enjoyed her time in the Comox Valley with husband Ken and extended family, but especially loved being "Granny". She will be missed by all who knew her.
