With fond memories of our Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Husband and Uncle we announce the passing of Edward Roy Burton. October 31, 1933 - February 20, 2021.
Beloved husband to Victoria Stoyko-Burton, father to Neil (Michelle), Gary (Joanne), Brian (Erin), Susanne (Jay), Martin (Katarina) and Cathy. He was a grandfather of 11 and great grandfather to two. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Edward was born on October 31, 1933 In Watson, Saskatchewan and lived his younger years there until leaving to join the navy. He spent 10 years travelling the world in the navy until he met his first wife Alice. They had four children and he began working in the Duncan area.
He pursued many jobs including exercising racehorses and blasting for roads and building. He settled at the Crofton Mill where he retired in 1996.
After the loss of Alice (Jan. 15, 1932 - March 3, 1984) he went on to meet and marry his second wife Victoria June 30, 1985 and they added her two children to the family.
They lived in Qualicum for many years where Ed enjoyed flying, the ocean, his garden and cooking. His Chinese food was unforgettable. He had a special love for the animals they had over the years, the most recent being Spike the very vocal Cat. He will be lovingly remembered for his good nature, his hearty laugh and his always welcoming personality.
Gone from us, but leaving memories death can never take away. Memories that will always linger While upon this earth we stay.
