Pawlik, Edward Peter (Ed) age 86 of Mesachie Lake, B.C., passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife of 58 years, Val on March 24, 2022 in Duncan B.C.
Ed was born December 29, 1935 in Vancouver, B.C. to Harry and Olga Pawlik. He graduated from Lake Cowichan Secondary School in 1952. He worked in the logging industry all his life, first with Pawlik Logging and retiring from Doman's Transport, driving logging truck for 35 years. He was known for his truck number 144 and his ever-present smile.
The outdoors was one of Ed's passions he shared with his children and grandchildren. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and taught hunter training and was part of the Wilderness Watch through The Valley Fish and Game club of which he was a lifetime member. He bowled for many years with the Dead Eyes team and was a volunteer firefighter with Mesachie Lake for over 30 years. Country music was always a part of his life, and he proudly taught his children how to "play the spoons" and bongo drums.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Harry and Olga Pawlik, sister Jean Kerrone and son Barry Pawlik (1989). Survived by his children Mike Pawlik (Abbotsford), Vickie Mitchell (Grand Prairie, AB), Leslie Ash (Bellingham, WA) and Bruce Pawlik (Mesachie Lake), thirteen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was always available to help his many friends with repairs to their vehicles, boats or just to lend a helping hand. Ed lived his life for his family, he was selfless, compassionate, kind and loving.
