It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Lewis on January 14, 2023. Dad was born in Ponoka, Alberta. He moved to the island as a child. While living in Nanaimo he met our mom Ruth, and they married in October 1955. They were married for 65 years until mom's passing in August 2020.
Dad spent his career in the logging industry, working 45 years for the same company. This took him from Nitinat camp to northern island camps and eventually finished in the Queen Charlottes. The majority of his life was spent in Lake Cowichan where his passions included fishing, boating, car restoration and travelling to warm sunny destinations with mom.
Dad will be deeply missed by his loving daughters Debbie (Ronald) Viala and Sharon (John) Viala; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and his many friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Malherbe, the dedicated third-floor nurses at CDH and the caring staff at Sunridge Place.
A private family celebration will be held at Ed's request.
