November 16, 1926 – December 17, 2020
On December 17, 2020, after gracing this world for 94 years with her kind, gentle and calm spirit our beautiful Mom threw her hat over the fence and went to get it, with the wind in her hair and the sun on her back.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Brenda (Gary), Scott (Amanda), Russ (Karen), 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren who cherished their time with
Pat. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2017.
Pat is fondly remembered by her large extended family and many friends who were a big part of her life. Pat was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta the youngest of seven children of Edith and William East.
Married for 68 years, Jack and Pat met in school in Wetaskiwin and shared a wonderful life together in Edmonton where they moved to shortly after being married. In the early years of their lives together, they worked to grow their construction business, Mackenzie Builders.
Mom would proudly say “she lived in a house that Jack built” her entire adult life. This held true until the last three months of Moms life when she moved into Stanford House in Parksville.
Mom enjoyed playing a good hand of bridge which she participated in until just last year. She also was an avid gardener and could be seen tending to her yard up until she moved from her house. Mom volunteered her entire adult life. After retiring from Woodwards in Edmonton she applied that expertise to volunteering at SOS in Parksville for over 25 years.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful friends and neighbors who went above and beyond in your caring support for Pat in her later years.
Life is measured by the loving relationships that are built around you and in this Mom; you were blessed with your full share. Till we meet again.
At Pat’s request, there will be no service. Obituary
