December 12, 1931 - October 1, 2020
Edith was born in the Railway section house at Cameron Lake. She was the eighth child of Basil and Victoria Burgoyne who settled in Hilliers-Coombs in 1910.
Edith is the last of the thirteen children.
Edith was predeceased by husband George Pratt in 1981 and her son Chuck Pratt in June 2020.
She is survived by her son Harold Pratt and his wife Darlene, Heather Pratt (Chuck) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Also many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Edith grew up and attended school in Hilliers and graduated from McMillian School in Parksville. Her first job was in 1947/48 at the Rod and Gun café in Parksville. Edith was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and Aunt. She spent her life making a home for her family in Coombs.
Edith lived with George and her two sons in Woss Lake and Fanny Bay for a short time. But Coombs was her home. She was known for her knitting, and for her feistiness. In her retirement she volunteered for many years at the S.O.S.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sulz and all the staff on second floor at Stanford Place for the loving care she received.
Following her wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's society of BC.
