With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Doug, on Sunday, May 20th, 2018.
Doug was born in Birtle, Manitoba and grew up on a farm there. His family moved to Sidney, B. C. in his teen years, where he met and married the love of his life of over 66 years, Audrey. They raised their three children in Victoria and retired to their cottage on Shawnigan Lake in 1981.
Doug leaves behind Audrey; his children: Jennifer (Dave), Deborah (Michael), Paul (Jenny); six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sister Muriel as well as many nieces, nephews and friends here, and in other parts of Canada and in the United Kingdom.
There will be a service held at St. John's Anglican Church, 3295 Cobble Hill Rd., Cobble Hill, B.C., on Saturday June 9th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Kidney Foundation of BC and Yukon Branch Office (#200-4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC, V5G 4K6).
We wish to thank Dr. Bill Moulaison, and the doctors and staff at Cowichan District Hospital, especially all the staff on 2-South, for their loving care and compassion.
