June 6, 1930 - January 9, 2021
It with heavy hearts and much grief we share the passing of our beloved Mother, Dorothy (Joan) LeMoine, July 6, 1930 - Jan 9, 2021, predeceased by her beloved James (Jim) Peter LeMoine, March 30, 1929 - Jan 7, 2009, and grandson Michael John, June 21, 1977- August 3, 2004.
Joan leaves to mourn their 6 children and 14 grandchildren; John and Joanne, Jocelyne, Molly of Terrace. Bob LeMoine, Casey, Will of Carstairs. Dave and Vicki LeMoine, Kelby, Taylor of Edmonton/ Al and Tami LeMoine, Clay, Amanda and Gabi of Strathmore, Paul and Shelly, Allie LeMoine of Kelowna. Lise Schulze, Tucker, Jackson, Emma and Levi of Claresholm. Sister in Law Pat LeMoine of Gravenhurst, Ont. Nephew Steve and Carol Rowland of Halifax, NS. Joan is also lovingly survived by 9 Great Grandchildren.
Joan has been a 20 year resident of Parksville, BC and in that time she has created a wave of community dedication and commitment to helping the City of Parksville thrive. Aside from being a creator and collaborator on Parksville Beach Festival, Joan also tirelessly volunteered with many organizations giving far more than is normally capable for anyone.
Joan loved to see folks shine and feel welcome where ever she went and she leaves a void that will be hard to fill. Her endless support to COPS for Cancer raised over $100,000 in her years of head shaving. But Joan felt her greatest accomplishment and joy was for her family.
We are deeply saddened by our Moms passing and equally grateful she is home with Dad and the rest of her kin holding space and shining their light for the rest of us to rise. Rather than mourn her loss lets celebrate her wonderful life, her tremendous spirit, the joy she brought to so many and the love she gave us.
As a result of COVID the family wishes to postpone a celebration of life until time allows for a very large send off the way Joanie and Parksville deserve. A notice will be sent when a future gathering can be attended by all who wish to share in the joy and life that Joan so dearly loved.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49, Parksville, BC. Rest well Mom, you are loved.
