January 3, 1929 - December 2, 2019
Doris Mary Rogers (nee Stewart) passed away peacefully Monday, December 2nd, 2019 in Kelowna, BC. Born January 3rd, 1929 in Vancouver, BC to her incredible parents Arthur and Margaret Stewart, Doris grew up in the Comox Valley. In the 1950's she married Raymond Rogers and had two beautiful daughters together, Dianne and Lesley. Later in life, Doris met Max Trimmer and spent many wonderful years together going on excursions camping, canoeing and soaking up the sun, which were all of her favourite things.
Doris was quite a bundle of light, always full of laughter and singing. She constantly captured a room when making her entrance with funny jokes or a singing monologues. Sunny (as many called her) was an animal lover and a woman made for the beach. Doris spent most of her time in Comox in the outdoors. She loved the summer months picnicking on the beach with hot dogs and peach cider surrounded by loved ones at the campfire.
Doris is predeceased by her eldest daughter Dianne, her partner Max and her fur kids Butchie, Misty, Boomer and Fargo. She is survived by her loving daughter Lesley (partner Steve), grandchildren Amy and Chad, great grandchildren Chloe, Sharine and Alexander, her great great granddaughter Shyla, son-in-law Clayton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Doris will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. A private ceremony to celebrate her life will be held by her family next summer.
