Land, Doris passed away in Port Alberni on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the age of 90 years.
Predeceased by husband Raymond, brother Russell and sister Margaret.
Survived by children Terry, Rob, Lucille, Sandra (Wayne), Charlotte (Bill) and Norma; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, sister Arlene and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris came to Port Alberni along with her family in 1935 and was raised in the Valley. She grew up at Sproat Lake in a house where the Bomber Base is now. She joined the Rebekah Lodge when she was 19 and remained a member all of her life and was in charge of the catering at the Rebekah Hall. She loved gardening and her special times were spent around the fire pit with the grandchildren cooking hotdogs.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
