February 15, 1939 – July 8, 2022
In loving memory ~
In Annaheim Saskatchewan, on the date of February 15th, 1939, Doris’s journey began. Parents Fred and Gertrude Hawser, welcomed their 2nd bundle of joy to the farming life.
Soon, another journey was to begin. This growing prairie family chose to move to Port Alberni BC. The farm in Beaver Creek was to become Home.
Doris grew – as all kids do – Soon Doris met Bud. Sparks flew and 4 Kids grew. Passions during these growing times were Hockey, Baseball, Lacrosse & Camping. Involved in all were Mom ( & Dad), Supportive parents – we surely had!
As empty nesters, passions anew, Vacationing in Hawaii, Wine making, Camping, Skiing, Fishing, Grandchildren in hand – as family was always first – Fishing & Camping, Summers at China Creek.
Mom could knit in a gale, watching the lines … Our ‘Grands’ learned much about life from our Mom. Tatting, Sewing and Knitting – Mom’s hands were rarely idle.
Bulldog supporters from the beginning, Yet another passion to share with the Valley.
After a life well-lived, On Friday, July 8th, 2022, Mom has gone to join Dad and continue their journey.
Cremation has taken place, No service by Mom’s request.
‘Be not sad at my passing,
Should there be tears – be they of Joy,
For I am glad having known you’.
