It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Doreen M. Smyth, at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC.
Mom was born in Tisdale, Sask. and lived in Regina until the age of 12 when she moved with her family to Mission, BC. She was the 12th of 14 children. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Annie Stokes; husband, Charles (Chuck) Smyth (1976); 8 sisters; 4 brothers; and daughter-in-law, Janice Smyth (2019).
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Reynolds (Larry Pokeda) of Port Alberni, BC; sons, Larry (Jodene) of Coombs, BC and Albert of Parksville, BC; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn (Bob) Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
Over the years, Mom enjoyed gardening, travelling, curling, knitting and above all her family. She was very active in the Legion Ladies Auxiliary starting in Abbotsford, Parksville and last with Branch #76, Qualicum Beach.
Mom and Dad resided in Abbotsford, Kelsey Bay, Ucluelet, Beachcomber and Qualicum Beach, where they were very active in the communities.
We wish to thank all Trillium Lodge Staff for the wonderful care given to our Mother over the past 5 ½ years during her journey with Dementia. Thank you also for the support you have given us.
There will be no service as per Moms instructions.
