Doreen Anderson (nee Conrad), beloved wife of Maurice "Andy" Anderson passed away peacefully on August 1, 2019 at the age of 77. Doreen was predeceased by her sister Muriel, borther Robert, and her parents William and Caroline Conrad. Left to cherish her memories her husband of 59 years Maurice "Andy" Anderson, her brother Donald (Lucille), Doreen's two sons Richard (Connie), and Michael (Marlene), her grandchildren Derek, Mathew, Mary (Dennis), and Scott (Tanysha).
Doreen was born in a small French community south of Winnipeg. Her family moved to Winnipeg where she eventually met Maurice and they were married in 1960. Maurice was in the Air Force and that led to the lifelong opportunities to travel the world. They lived in West Germany for 11 of their 59 year marriage. Doreen saw and experienced everything and her passion to travel and learn about history was fulfilled. Throughout her years of employment as a librarian at public schools and libraries, she never hesitated to pass on her worldly knowledge to anyone interested. She would have been a worthy contestant on Jeapardy. To Doreen, family was everything and she always made sure people around her were looked after before her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Green and Dr. Brais for their kind support. Also, would like to acknowledge the home care nurses Comox group, in particular nurses Christine, Amber, Nora, and home care providers Cheryl and Brenda, and the many others that provided such good care for Doreen. Doreen was no doubt one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew her.
