It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donna Marie Evans. She passed peacefully in her final home at Yucalta Lodge.
Donna was born in Campbell River, and as a young woman moved to Vancouver BC and worked as a bank teller and telephone operator. She eventually made her way back to Campbell River where she took such jobs as working the lunch counter at the airport, dispatching for Island Air, dispatching for Franks Taxi and, finally, taking care of the Campbell River food bank in the early 80s to late 90s.
Donna was predeceased by her husband (Peter Evans), parents (Louis & Mary Joyce), brother (George Joyce), grandson (Joshua).
She leaves behind her kids Brandon Roussin, Lisa Chaston, Norm Roussin (Patty), grandchildren Cory (Emily), Cody, Rachelle (Brett), Bailey (John), Rena- Marie, and great grandson Carter.
One of Donna's favorite pastimes was being a social butterfly, and you always walked away with a new joke or a quick witted backlash as she was always ready for a verbal joust. She was a hard act to follow for sure.
