In Loving Memory ~
The saddest words are hard to say and announcing the passing of our beautiful loving Mother, Dianne Carol Murray (nee' Kelly) is very painful.
Dianne was born June 3, 1939 in Vancouver, B.C. and left this world on February 2, 2022 at 3:24 a.m.
She was predeceased and goes to greet, her Mom Ethel (nee' Westrand) 1983, Dad Joseph Kelly (1964), her beautiful beloved granddaughter Christine (Tina) Carol Scott-Wade in 1997. Her three sisters; Sherry (Bert Martin), Linda (Anne) (Jim Swan), Agnes (Peter Rocco), and her 3 brothers; Jack, Bob, and Larry Kelly.
Mom leaves behind to carry her wonderful memories six children; Kathy and best friend Henry Graber, Art and friend Sara Pears, Karen Scott-Wade (Don), Kelly Brimacombe (Bill), Alex (Angie Dalton), and Christopher.
Her grandchildren; Angie (Nigel Pow), Brandon Murray, Vicki (Rob York), Alexander Murray, Stephanie Scarff (Chad Withers), Jessica Murray (Len Wutzke), Brittany Murray, Thomas Strenja, Billy Brimacombe (Jocelyn), Valerie (Shahnoor Hossain) and Dustin Forbes.
Great grandmother G.G. to Robbie, Liam, Jace, Brooklyn, Sean, Joshua, Jaylene, Elijah, Enara, Carson, Brody and Levi.
Aunt Dianne to many loving nieces and nephews. Devoted trusted friend as well beloved neighbor to many others.
A chapter closes in our family history as Mom was the last of her generation. She was proud to have worked at St Joseph's Hospital as a Housekeeper for nearly 20 years and Mariner Apartments in Comox as Manager for 20 years.
Mom moved to the beautiful Comox Valley in 1970 and never looked back.
At 4'11" she was a formidable force when it came to her family. She was our protector, advisor, friend, confidant and Mom. She was there for all of us and tackled everything head on and with class.
Mom loved the simpler side of life with her family. In the trunk of her car was always an arsenal of water guns because one never knew (unless the lake or beach was nearby and then it was a given that everyone was going in) when a water fight would break out. Almost always instigated by her! Even in her 80's she was chasing the great grandchildren around wearing a raincoat and armed with the biggest water gun she could find.
Mom was at every recital, parade, graduation, birth. No matter what from drag racing and hockey games to school plays, she was in the front row cheering.
She was a world traveler having been to 14 countries and loved the adventures she had in places like China, Israel, Turkey and Italy.
Mom was so funny, smart, hilarious, creative, caring and loving. She loved sitting on her couch and watching the Eagles soaring outside her window as they looked for food at the beach.
We're all going to miss her daily phone calls asking "do you want to hear my laugh for the day?"
Mom made the best homemade muffins, they were made with love and she baked them for family and strangers alike. It was her signature trademark.
Mom learned how to crochet from her treasured Aunt Ella when she was 7 years old and crocheted all her life. Hundreds of people have her tea towels and dishcloths. We all have tablecloths and doilies. With each crochet stitch she said, "I love you."
There's so many people to thank for their devotion to Mom.
Dr R. Darryl McLeod for his unending care as he treated our Mom like she was his Mom. Thank you.
Courtenay Pharmacy, Chris Sutton, Mike and Erin. The hugs, laughs and muffins and incredible care. Mom's life was better because of you.

If we haven't mentioned you please forgive us. There's so many people who loved our Mom and who made differences in her life everyday and we're FOREVER grateful.
Memorial service to be held June 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Piercy's Funeral Home followed by a Barbecue at Kin Beach on Sat. June 4 starting at noon where the family welcomes all and there's plenty of room for camping.
