Diana Ruby Hazel Hryhorka

born Aug-1946, in Toronto Ontario. Went to be with Lord Jesus in Heaven Nov. 8-2017.

Diana came out west with her parents Ken and Ruby Blaney at age 3. Her father worked with Crown Zellerbach as an accountant, and they were posted in the Queen Charlotte Islands, Ocean Falls, Ladysmith, Beaver Cove, Campbell River. Diana has two sons, Lonny and Dana.

In 1976, she married her soul mate John in Campbell River, and soon after moved to Nanaimo in John's transfer with CIL Explosives. Settling in Nanaimo led to Diana becoming a Christian, joining the Nanaimo Alliance Church Family. In her career aspirations, she pursued jewelry store sales, Woodwards home furnishings, interior design decorating.

She was a volunteer for the John Howard Society, attaining President of JHS of BC. She was talented in doing her own sewing, using a serger to create her own jackets and skirts. She wanted to oil paint, and produced outstanding pieces for home. She worked as secretary for John for many years. Her greatest passion was in her walk with Ladies Bible Studies,

Her motives have always been sincere, polite, and revealing the truth about Biblical pursuits. In her life with John, they travelled to Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bali, Mexico, Hawaii several times, and many cruises. Taking an 18 day tour of ancient ruins in Turkey was most memorable.

Diana and John had a second home in Palm Desert for several years, and Diana created Bible studies there as well. John is proud and marvels at being married to such an elegant, devoted, kind lady who had enormous wisdom and passion for sincerity and  teachings of Jesus.

Diana is survived by her old goat husband John ( 42 marvellous years of marriage), sons Lonny ( Deb), Dana ( Anne), two grandsons Carson and Owen, sisters Lynda, Gail, Judy, Alissa, brother Ken.

Our family is grieving the passing of a talented and elegant lady who had enormous wisdom and passion for sincerity in the teachings of Jesus.

Graveside service will be at 10 am, at Cedar Memorial Gardens, November 17, followed by celebration of life at the Nanaimo Alliance Church, at 11 am. Friends are welcome to attend both events.

Pastor Ernie Gray officiating.
