With much sadness we announce the sudden passing of Derek at home on September 1st. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland he arrived in Canada to work for Hudson's Bay Co. in the Yukon. Subsequently he went on to become a Captain in the Whitehorse Fire Department. In 1951 he married Eileen and later moved to Victoria where he became sales representative for Christie Brown Co. Upon retiring they spent many happy years sailing the Gulf Islands and travelling.
Derek is survived by his loving wife Eileen and sons Keith and Neil.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Mills Road, North Saanich on September 13th at 11 am.
