In Loving Memory ~ With great sadness we announce the passing of Denis Duquette at the age of 81.
Denis will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bea, daughter Therese, son Daniel, grandchildren Stephanie, Sean, daughter Mary Ann (Fred), granddaughters Wyntre (Jay), Denise, Spring (Christopher), and great grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends—all of whom he dearly loved. Family always came first.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph, Jean, siblings Lillian, Roger, and young daughter Denise.
Denis was born in Coderre, Saskatchewan and grew up in Weyburn. He became a Pipefitter by trade; throughout his lengthy career he was extremely hard-working and a selfless provider for family. One of his passions was tending to his yard - it always looked like a park.
After his retirement to Campbell River he kept up yards for others in addition to his own. He built and tended a lovely goldfish pond for many years. He also enjoyed going to the casino.
Denis truly enjoyed meeting people and was kind, loving and generous. He often volunteered bringing his time and talents wherever he went. For many years Denis and Bea put up fun Christmas and Halloween displays in the yard; they delighted in spoiling the trick-or-treaters.
Denis will be missed greatly and never forgotten—he will remain forever in our hearts.
A special thank you to Dr. Michael Meckin for his dedication and care of Denis in recent years, as well as to the compassionate hospital nursing staff. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
