February 9, 1924 - October 8, 2022
Dedar Sihota passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 8, 2022 at age 98.
Born in India on February 9, 1924, he came to Canada in 1936 at age 12. Dee attended UBC, overcoming many barriers to become BC's first Indo-Canadian teacher. Dee was a pioneer, a mentor and a role model to many. His bright mind and giving character will be dearly missed.
He is survived by six children, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister and his sister-inlaw.
Dee was pre-deceased by his loving wife Joyce and by his beloved son Darshan.
