Debora Michele Krueger

December 21, 1962 – October 1, 2022
In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the celestial departure of our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and teacher, Debora Michele Krueger, at the young age of 59 years old. Debora left this Earth in peace and dignity, surrounded by loved ones in her beautiful home on the evening of October 1st, 2022.
Debora was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on December 21st, 1962 to Rudy and Angeline Krueger and was the eldest of three daughters.
Debora left school and home life at a young age and it was this detour in her life that she discovered her truest calling – education. With great tenacity and determination, Debora graduated from Vancouver Island University (former Malaspina College) with a Bachelors of Education with Honorary Distinctions in 1994 and dedicated the next 28 years of her life to education in a multitude of settings in Nanaimo, Gold River and Courtenay, BC.
Her passion for learning motivated her to continue her education and she obtained her Masters through Simon Fraser University while teaching full-time and raising her children. Debora’s role as a Learning Support Teacher at Arden Elementary School was her most rewarding experience in her career and her presence will be greatly missed.
In addition to her career as an educator, Debora’s three children were her proudest accomplishments. She was most happy spending time with friends and family, camping, gardening (with two green thumbs), listening to music, painting and learning.
She is survived by her children Bailey Krueger, Levi Pederson and Sydney Pederson; her granddaughter Phoenix; her parents, Rudy and Angeline Krueger and sisters Brenda Olin and Natalie Cuthbert.
Debora’s family would like to sincerely thank the compassionate care received from Dr. Nancy Macpherson and BC Cancer Agency, Team North Home Care nurses at Community Health Services and all her family and friends whose support and love meant so very much to her.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, Debora’s family are requesting that donations be made to The Foundry Comox Valley via the John Howards Society of North Island in her memory to help children, youth, adults, and families lead safer, healthier lives.
