It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Dawn Elizabeth Christian on May 12, 2021. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son Mischa, daughter-in-law Caprice, sister Joanne, brother-in-law Don, niece Trina (Mike), nephew Wes (Kendra), and her two granddaughters Makeena and Aspyn - her whole world.
Dawn's passion for social and environmental issues led her to join and be a major contributor to numerous community organizations both in the Comox Valley (where she lived for 30 years) and on Galiano Island (where she lived for 10 years).
For the past 15 years she worked as an administrative assistant within the SD71 school district. Her longest tenure was at Mark Isfeld Secondary, where she loved her job until she retired in late 2019.
Dawn will be remembered by her friends and loved ones as a kind, compassionate and knowledgeable lover of the natural world. This passion led her to exploring the world from mountain tops to ocean bottoms, through hiking, biking, sailing, kayaking, scuba diving, and numerous laughs on the tennis court.
We have lost a friend, mother, sister and grandmother and the world has lost one of its biggest advocates.
