April 4, 1936 - August 29, 2021
With much sadness we announce the passing of David. Born in Vancouver to Wallace and Mary Pearson and younger brother to Wally Jr.
As a young man he worked at his uncles' garage and excelled in many sports. He played on the YMCA provincial championship basketball team, although couldn't afford the membership so snuck in the back door of the Y during his time there.
His mother was very proud when at the age of 19, he joined her working at BC Tel. During his early years of telephone service he was responsible for installation in remote areas from Grand Forks to Ucluelet.
David was transferred to Duncan in 1965 where he completed his BC Tel service of 38 years. He was an enthusiastic and accomplished golfer, playing many happy rounds with friends and family. He also enjoyed many summers at the cabin in Honeymoon Bay with friends, neighbours and family.
We are grateful to him for dragging numerous waterskiing children around the bay. David also loved woodworking and the Toy Drive was grateful for his regular donations of doll cradles and ferry boats.
David will be greatly missed by his wife Alice, daughters Jayne and Mary, son -in-law Tom and grandchildren Allie, Maddie, Nate, Josh and Ben, as well as many friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gilbert as well as Dr. Iftikhar and the Coleman clinic staff.
We would also like to thank the staff at Sunridge and Mom and Dad's friends and neighbours who offered so much love and attention.
A family gathering will be held at a later date. Please remember David by paying a kindness forward.
