It is with profound sadness the family of David Kenneth Thomson announce his passing at the Courtenay Hospital on August 28, 2019.
David is predeceased by his father Eric Thomson and mother Jenny Thomson, son Trever Thomson, brother Bill Thomson and sister Pat Thomson. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Lila Thomson; sons Dwayne Thomson and Dave Thomson; grandchildren Steven Emery, Shawn Hamerston, Meranda, Martina, Nevaeh, and Taleah Thomson; great grandchildren Bodhi, Wynter, Rowen, Emery, Zayden, and Grayson Schmit; brothers John (Yvonne) Thomson; nieces and nephews Robert, Jonny, Brenda, Lorra, Chris, Loura, Jim, Marnie, Char, Max, Sheila, Jenafur, Jason, Jackie, as well as many more family members and friends.
David was a Chaser and worked his way up to Landing Bucker starting on August 1, 1965 and retired June 15, 2005. In his leisure, David had a passion for cars and detailing. He was first and foremost a loving family man, a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Always the practical joker and loved to make everyone laugh and smile. He will be dearly missed.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in David’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
There will be a gathering of family and friends in celebration of his life on Monday, September 9, 2019, 1 pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay with an interment to follow at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
