After a long fought and determined battle against cancer, Dave passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side.

Predeceased by his son David, brother Vernon and sister Linda. He is survived by his wife Cathy, son John (Darilynne), daughters Lisa and Tina, grandchildren Dusten (Cassandra), Dylen, Dayten, Shian and Brody, and great granddaughters Mckenzie and Mikayla.

Dave worked in the Valley as a logger and then as a millworker for Catalyst Paper, retiring 22 years ago.

Dave lived his life to the fullest and loved everything about it. His many passions included music, boats, cars and puttering around.

Dave will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, his enjoyment of people and having a good time. He had a great sense of humour and loved a good discussion, always expounding on the "depths of reality." He will forever be remembered and always in our hearts.

Special thanks to my sister Pat Garland, friends Mike and Kelly Wolter, Sandy Chan, Dr. Seymour and the palliative care nurses for all of their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society or the SPCA.

There will be a Celebration of Life at First Memorial Funeral Services, Duncan, Sept 22 at 2 pm.
