Our beloved David left this world behind him and sailed through the harbour to his eternal home and rest.
Pre Deceased by his Son Dennis, left behind are his Daughter Hailey Houston, Parents Joann Harding (Jack), Bob Houston (Lenore), His wife Julie Smyth, Sister Kathy Milliser (Rob), Nieces, Nephews and Cousins Kristy, Emily, Lisa, Jennifer, Corey, Barb, Beverly and his dear Uncle John, aunt Caran and Aunty Evelyn.
Dave was well known for the many amazing antique and classic car restorations he created over the years. He was a master craftsman in his field of body work and award winning custom paint work.
At one time he was employed at Altair Refrigeration as an apprentice technician where he worked for Tom Bedford as well.
Dave had a huge heart for those people around him who needed a hand up. The Nanaimo Selby Street Mission was blessed when he became their primary sponsor since they began in 2018. A family based ministry to our citys poor.
Living life abroad his sail boat for 17 years meant he could keep life simple. A camp fire in the woods, a dog and his own thoughts were his joy. In his downtime he enjoyed crafting beautiful handmade car models, and even a replica of his sailboat "Estrella".
Thank you to Sands Funeral Chapel & Dave Perry, the wonderful care from Dr. Torrie, the many nurses in palliative care, and the visits from the pastors at First Baptist Church.
A "Evening to Remember" will be held on Friday, August 2nd @ 6:30, at First Baptist Church (1650 Waddington Rd)
